The algorithm used for the end-to-end encryption is solid and the smart people who developed WhatsApp should have implemented it without bugs. So I will take their word on that. Do I trust Facebook (which now owns WhatsApp) to not use the easily available data they get through your chats? No. Facebook should be made to give you such a service for free which It is not.
