In regards to Avast, I cannot access the hub for it to turn it off. The icon in the lower right corner also does not show, I tried to uninstall it but that also did not work. Any idea what is wrong with this PC? Kindly help me...

Check-in install programs either avast antivirus is present or not.

I would first suggest you update to the latest version antivirus software so that the virus definition of the software gets updated and then run a full system examine which will take some time.
